Jennifer Lefort: Either-Or-And November 6–29, 2026 Opening reception: Saturday, November 7, 12–4 pm THIS Gallery presents Either-Or-And, a solo exhibition by Gatineau-based artist Jennifer Lefort. Bringing together painted textiles, digital embroidery, ribbons and bent brass rods, Lefort creates loosely hung works that occupy a shifting territory between painting, textile and sculpture. Fabric folds, overlaps and sags under its own weight, interrupting painted gestures and allowing compositions to change with the physical behaviour of the material. The exhibition includes works from Sincères Salutations, an ongoing series combining Lefort’s approach to colour and abstraction with machine embroidery derived from her blind journal entries. Written without looking at the page, the entries accumulate into tangles of overlapping marks before being translated into embroidery. Constructed but never entirely fixed, the works seem capable of being untied, rearranged or transformed again. Either-Or-And embraces this sense of possibility, occupying the spaces between image and object, structure and atmosphere, and painting and sculpture.
